It seems like I’ve been seeing ads for programs like this that supposedly speed up downloads for over a decade now, but this one actually does it what it says via multithreading. I was downloading a large (over 8 GB) file and this massively cut down on the time it took to do that versus using a web browser. For that alone I give it five stars. I’d like to see full screen mode in a future update, but otherwise it works great.

this is very usefull App but i preafer Folx 2 interface. every thing was more under control than this new face. please make it happen to change the program interface into previous version.

Occassionally has massive lag and CPU usage near 100%. Also wished it supported torrents. But overall its pretty good, definitely speeds up large downloads.

I download it and try to download mp3 and it doesn’t work at all even with safari

There is a Major Problem with this Update. The Application installed and Restored Purchases Successfully but after a restart the app is damaged and i have to download it again. And other problem is that often when a download is almost completed download speed becomes Very Slow.

After the update and restore purchases the app doesnt open! it state the app is damaged, i delete the app 5 times and reinstall and still the same problem cant use the app? and reply to our support e-mail requests next time.

Good app for those who have crummy Internet access. With its scheduler I download files in the middle of the night when download limits are not so essential.

just recent craches and re download my files and schedular not working right i buy the pro features and i think it must increase the threads to 16 like internet download manager beacuase thats a cool thing and work well. and its need a video grabber.

I switched to Folx from Speed Download since its not supported anymore. Really good alternative.

Updated review with point #3 workaround to get rid of the stupid "Buy Pro Nao!" dialog. Added about scripting, and about Folxs plugins. 2 things have caused me to give this downloader 1 star: 1/ If you buy the PRO upgrade you DO NOT get "Smart Downloading". You get everything else but not that. Eltimas IAP *lies* -- dont buy the PRO pack until Eltima fixes this! 2/ Even worse, when you launch the App you MUST "Restore Purchases" EVERY TIME. That makes this thing a dog. (I have since gotten a refund of the "Pro" IAP) 3/ If the "Buy Pro" Dialog "wont go away if you press the "Buy Pro" or Cancel" its because Eltima wasnt smart enough to ALSO wire the "Dont show this again" checkbox into the Buy and Cancel buttons LIKE EVERY OTHER APP. You have to tick the box AND THEN Cmd-W or close.window from the upper left close control. This is typical WINDOWS. SMDH. If Eltima fixed items 1-2 this would be a 4+/5 App. All the above being said this is an OKAY to average Downloader. Its not the hot mess that "Speed Download" (RIP, not developed now) used to be, and the browser plugins work unobtrusively and well. There are other "downloaders" in the MAS but their web plugins dont work as well. Personally Im not bothered by the UI, its logical and straightforward. Also the "Add.." dialog can be turned off, which is good if you want to script Folx using Automator or a shell command like open -a Folx GO {URL}... that really works. So kudos to Eltima for doing that. 5 stars to start with for something thats done mostly right. -1 star for STUPID bugs, and another -1 star for abusing In-App Purchasing and NOT giving the user features promised in the dialog. Youre dealing with Mac Users, Eltima. Act like it and youll have a 5-star app.

Thank you! I like this app so much! It is fast and professional! The only slight problem here is the names of files! Why does it download files with wierd names which takes me some time to rename??

In Folx 2.0 I used to be able to paste multiple links using cmd+v. In this new version, there doesnt seem to be a way to do it. I would continue using Folx 2.0 if it didnt stop working.

I installed this app and had a nightmare experience with it. I added the Firefox add-on for it and when I tried to download a file in Firefox, it immediately opened the app with about:blank as the file source. Great. So I quit the app and tried again and same obnoxious behavior. OK, so I disabled the add-on and tried again. Same behavior. Next, I deleted the app and tried again. Same behavior. So I emptied the trash. Same behavior. What!? I opened atMonitor and it showed that the copy of the app I had in my Downloads folder was running! Huh!? So I quit the app and permanently deleted it from the command line. I refreshed the page in FF once again and the bloody app pops up again with about:blank!!! OMG! This time atMonitor shows the app running from a CC backup! So I delete that version and had to restart FF before I could finally get the normal download dialog. I used DownThemAll instead and that worked fine. At least I had the opportunity to make the choice. This app gave me no choice. I expected it to just add a menu item to the FF download dialog but it didnt and there were no settings for the FF add-on. This app is, by definition, malware. It takes over your browser. It should be taken out of the app store.

this version is good speed in download , but when i want to download from a link i must coppy the download link and then coppy it to the folx . this is so bad for me ! why i don’t creat download file from its link in site or web ??!!

Took me a bit to learn new interface, different than ver 2.x. Works very well for me. Fast and efficient! Miss the bit torrent download feature.

I had been searching and comparing differnt download agents for long until I really dertemined to settle down with Folx Go. The repolished UI brought the experience of downloading to a new asthetical level. Not exaggrate to say, it is the most beautiful download agent I have ever used. But it doesn’t stop there. It integrated with lots of useful function. like auto organize, putting tags, which make finding files downloaded really easy. The thing I love the most is the integration with iTunes. I love to listen songs with my iPhone however some of the songs are not in iTunes store, which makes me download it else where. Now with this function, it makes import to my itunes library really convenient. Though with above pros brougt to this latest version, it has its limits. It does not allow built-in torrent search nor torrent downloading. Its compatability with Yosemitte needs improving. Wish the developer release a newer version soon, bringing us pro user some neat improvements.

This could possibly be a good app, but I wouldn’t know because it doesn’t come with a user guide (unless you buy the PRO version). Simple things like downloading a Movieberry movie with Folx became an exercise in research on how to do it. Still haven’t figured out how to send the downloaded links to the trash. It has potential (and is FAST!), but it IS NOT intuitive as touted. A simple user guide or youtube tutorial would go a long way in improving the usability of this app.
